Breathing exercises are a great way to relax, reduce tension and relieve stress. When we take deep breaths our heart rate decreases and our blood pressures drops.
Here is a breathing exercise to try. This is also great to do with kids to help promote calm and relaxation, especially around bedtime or periods of anxiety.
Our emotions can be as unpredictable as the weather, this breathing exercise can try and shine light on darker days
Find a relaxed position, sitting or lying down, close the eyes.
Draw your focus to the breath. feel each breath go in and each breath leave the body.
On you next inhale, imagine your breath is a golden wash of sunshine flooding your body with warmth. On your exhale, see any darkness lingering inside you leave with your breath.
Repeat until there is nothing but light inside of you.
